“I had a farm in Africa, at the foot of the Ngong Hills”

Perhaps it all began with this sentence.

The desire to live in Africa was born after our first business trip to Cape Town.

Coming from Germany, we were engulfed and in love with every aspect of the culture.

Seeing Table Mountain, the ocean, the city, the townships, poor and rich, white and black…

All of this spoke to us.

My wife and daughter joined me on one of my travels to South Africa, and they immediately felt like I did the first time: hooked by the “African fever”.

In June 2016, my wife and I found a guesthouse in Swellendam that we were interested in; we booked flights and came to check it out…

We were immediately in love with the area; we found new friends, a home and a new life within a matter of days.

In February 2017, we made the life changing decision to pursue our dream.

We sold our property in Germany, bought the guesthouse and started organising our move to Swellendam.

Renovation and reconstruction started in April 2017; now seven beautifully decorated suites await you, many with their own private terrace, and a guesthouse that includes a cozy breakfast and lounge area with fantastic views looking out to the mountain landscape.

We invite you to get to know this beautiful country; it’s kind population, the warm sunshine, and the beautiful views, with us at Grace Walk – perhaps you will also fall for Africa’s charm, just like we did over ten years ago.
